Regional Advisory: Dengue Fever

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has confirmed 3 cases of locally acquired dengue. These residents had no history of travel to places where dengue is common prior to their symptoms.

The risk of widespread transmission in LA County remains low, but Public Health is closely monitoring the situation. Cases of locally acquired dengue are very rare in LA County. The best way to prevent getting dengue is to avoid mosquito bites.
